About The Experience

Nestled in the foot of scenic Jebel Hafeet Mountain, Al Ain Zoo gives you the fabulous chance to come face-to-face with both indigenous and exotic animals. In an area of about 900 hectares, this engaging zoo displays the charming allure and diversity of animal and plant life at its blissful best. As a safe abode to over 4000 animals, it represents close to 200 wildlife species – over 25% of which are threatened species. After all, the zoo is highly regarded for its contribution in nature and wildlife conservancy, thanks to its significant tie-ups involving San Diego Zoo and the World Association of Zoos & Aquariums.

Attractions & Experiences

Meet some of the most endangered animals as per the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature) Red List, such as white-handed Gibbon. Apart from making most of its green spaces, cafeterias, and exclusive Kids’ Garden, you can indulge in many amazing experiences, from the delightful Birds of Prey and Parrot shows to the exciting reptile encounters.

A favorite of kids and grown-ups alike is animal feeding sessions wherein you can feed and spend some time with such adorable companions as penguins, giraffe, vibrant budgies etc. Furthermore, enjoy a camel or pony ride to immerse in the zoo’s sweeping lush landscape. Now if you want to do try something daring and unforgettable, consider super thrilling programs like Dinner with Lions.

Exciting Sections

Be sure to check out the zoo’s very recent addition, Al Ain Safari, which alone covers 215 plus hectares of land, remarkably representing one of the world’s most legendary ecosystems. You’ll see here the widest array of native African animals including the iconic Big 5 – all wandering in the exact replication of their natural habitat. Also, catch up with the critically imperiled residents like Addax. For the most authentic African safari experience, you can take a 45 minute Truck Drive or 60 minute SUV ride across the section’s superbly maintained wildlife attractions.

Best of all, the zoo is home to Sheikh Zayed Desert Learning Centre (SZDLC). Featuring five interactive galleries that intriguingly journeys you from past to present, it’s the country’s first-of-its-kind facility to be awarded a five pearl rating by Estidama Pearl Rating System, apart from LEED Platinum certification.

So whether you’re looking for an enthralling day out with your family or kids or want to have the most terrific wildlife learning experience, a leisurely trip to Al Ain Zoo will never let your expectations down.
